NAME THEM!

A crucial part of grief is having your loss recognized and affirmed by your community. As of today, 6,672,015 people have died from COVID-19. Yet, little public space has been made for the grief of tens of millions of people. We believe that one small step in affirming COVID grief is to say the victims' names. This is a monumental task and so we are beginning with the state of Arizona, where The Grief Commune is based. There have 32,038 COVID deaths in Arizona and we are just now nearing 1,000 names compiled. We welcome anyone's help in completing this task and encourage people to start similar projects in their own home states or countries. Once our first issue is released in spring 2023, we will post the list of victims' names here and will continue on updating it, though, hopefully one day soon, we will no longer have any names to add.
